As police arrived to arrest him, murderer Frederick Moses McCallum sat at a kitchen table, drinking tea. The priest he’d called to the crime scene stood nearby. Inside the small house in Buffalo Narrows, the seven members of the Pederson Family lay bleeding from axe wounds, along with family friend John Baptiste Herman in one of the bloodiest murders in Canadian history. The Pederson family included Thomas, Bernadette, Connie, Cynthia, Grace, Donny, Robert, Richard, and Rhoda Pederson.
